Our new a la carte menu by executive chef and King of Louisiana and American Seafood, Ryan Trahan, has replaced Blue Dog Café’s Sunday brunch buffet. The new menu offers regionally inspired dishes that merge classic brunch staples with the flavorful Cajun cuisine for which Blue Dog Café is known.
“When it came to the development of our new brunch menu, we worked really hard to infuse every dish with the flavors that influence life in Acadiana, and we’re hopeful that it will give both locals and visitors another opportunity to experience the uniqueness of South Louisiana’s food, music and art,” says Trahan.
New on the Menu
From sweet dishes like Sweet Potato Pancakes served with satsuma marmalade, whipped cream and toasted pecans to more savory options such as a Cheddar Gruyere Biscuit topped with white sausage gravy, Blue Dog Café’s brunch will have something to satisfy every craving.
Additional highlights from the new menu include Bacon Pecan Sticky Buns topped with a bourbon chocolate gravy; Cajun Benedict served with a cheddar biscuit, andouille sausage, poached eggs and a spicy hollandaise sauce; Croque Madame made with smoked ham, bechamel, butter, gruyere cheese and a sunny-side-up egg; Smothered Pork Chimichangas served with jambalaya rice, scrambled eggs, guajillo gravy, Cajun mornay and fresh herbs; and Braised Short Rib Hash made with 12-hour braised short ribs, breakfast hash, debris gravy and a sunny-side-up egg. The brunch menu at Blue Dog Café will also include familiar entrees such as Chicken & Sausage Gumbo, Cast-Iron Heirloom Cornbread and the Blue Dog Burger, among others.
No weekend brunch is complete without an easy-to-sip cocktail in hand. To complement the new food items, Blue Dog Café will roll out brunch beverages like the Cold Fashioned, made with cold-brew coffee, bourbon, muddled orange, cinnamon and honeysuckle liqueur.
And don't miss the Clovis Marie—a crawfish boil Bloody Mary rimmed in boil seasoning and garnished with boiled garlic miniature corn, pearl onions and spicy green beans. For those looking to fully embrace their Sunday celebrations, bottomless mimosas will be available for $12.00.
